Fast 14 with Anna Enright

Fast 14 with Anna Enright

1. What is your role at the Print Room?

I’m the Key Accounts and Office Manager.

2. Shoot a portrait of yourself.

3. Share a favourite space/place of yours.

The Great Outdoors.

4. What are your hobbies?

Travelling. Hiking. Skiing. Tennis. Running. Watching live sports. Doing creative projects / anything that requires a decent amount of problem solving or learning a new skill.

5. Got any book recommendations?

Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zaun and Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo.

6. What’s your go-to coffee?

At home - a V60 filter.
Out and about - A 6oz flat white.

7. What's your all-time favourite album?

That's too hard. Here’s a long list because I’m indecisive.

  • Blonde - Frank Ocean
  • 99.9% - Kaytranada
  • Lonerism - Tame Impala
  • The Budos Band - The Budos Band
  • The Olympians - The Olympians
  • Mordechai - Khruangbin
  • Midnight in Peckham EP - Chaos in the CBD
  • 816 to Nunhead - Chaos in the CBD
  • MBDTF or Late Registration - Kanye West
  • You’ll Understand - Single - Ross from Friends
  • Saw You for the First Time - Laurence Guy
  • Is the Is are - Diiv
  • Recto Verso - Paradis (best played when you’re on a long drive in France and have run out of things to talk about).

8. What are you doing to help the environment?

I try to make conscious buying decisions, and have been eating more vegetarian-based meals. And I haven’t owned a car until just recently too. That’s thanks to the great public transport systems in the cities I’ve lived in. I'd like to get on my bike more often for making short trips but biking up Eglinton Road is hard yakka.

9. Your lifelong dream?

Buy a house in Italy to have as a second home. Near the alps for skiing in the winter, but close enough to a train station to get to the beaches in Summer.

To be honest I’m not even on the board for a first home, but così è la vita!

10. What were you doing before Print Room and what brought you here?

I was living in London, working in the creative team for an education charity. Before that, in Amsterdam working for a business development agency in the design and architecture space.

But in the last six months before moving back to New Zealand, I travelled throughout Europe in a self-converted campervan.

11. Shoot something that makes you happy.

Said campervan - pictured here in Theth, Albania.

12. If you had unlimited Airpoints and you could go to one country tomorrow, where would it be and why?

Japan. Or Sri Lanka. But ask me tomorrow and I’ll have a different answer again.

13. You’re having a dinner party at your house, what do you make?

Wood fired, Napoletana style pizzas. And wine.

14. You’re allowed 3 famous guests at this dinner party who are they and why?

To pick their brain:

Paula Scher, Dieter Rams and John Pawson

For a laugh:

Hamish Blake, Fern Brady and Joe Lycett
