Typically screen prinitng is best suited to artwork with spot colours, however photographs or full colour prints with gradients can be printed with a higher number of screens. A different screen is required for each colour in the artwork, so, the fewer colours, the less the print will cost.. When printing onto coloured & dark garments an underbase layer is required to ensure the print is bright and vibrant.

CUSTOM EMBROIDERED PATCHES
Custom embroidered patches are an excellent branding option for caps, bucket hats, beanies, and the left chest or sleeves of t-shirts, sweaters, and jackets. We can create custom embroidered patches in most shape or sizes that you require. Usually, we use a cotton drill backing for the main colour of the patch and then stitch in the detailing (up to 12 colours) that you need and then finish the patch with a merrow edge stitch.
CUSTOM WOVEN PATCHES
Custom woven patches are created using lots of tightly weaved thin threads that produce a high-detail finish. Woven patches are excellent at achieving small lettering (as small as 5mm high) or for illustrative designs. Woven patches can be created with an embroidered merrow edge stitch or without, and we can supply loose or sew the woven patches onto your desired hat or garment. We can also supply the patches with an iron-on backing.
CUSTOM PRINTED PATCHES
Dye-sublimated patches are the best patch option for super fine detailed artwork or small text. Dye-sublimated patches are digitally printed and then sublimated onto a polyester material. We colour match your artwork files using CMYK or Pantone colours. We have an MOQ of 20 units for these if they're applied to garments we supply. If they're supplied loose, the MOQ of 100 units applies.

CUSTOM PVC PATCHES
Custom PVC patches are large and in charge! They are a really durable branding decoration that can pop off your garments or provide a subtle three-dimensional look. We can offer custom PVC patches loose with an iron on backing or we can sew them onto your cap or beanie. PVC patches can also be used as custom key rings when a small loop is added to the edge of the patch.
CUSTOM LEATHERETTE PATCHES
Custom leatherette patches are a high quality branding method to finish your garments with. We offer leatherette in a range of colours, finishes and branding options. The leatherette comes in black, brown or grey and we can emboss or laser engrave your branding onto the leatherette. Custom leatherette patches are popular on caps and beanies.

WHAT PATCH IS BEST FOR YOUR JOB?
Embroidered Patches
Size options: From 50mm x 50mm up to 100mm x 100mm.
Shapes available: Standard and custom shapes
Minimum order: 100 units
Maximum thread colours: 12 thread colours
Production Time: 20 - 30 Working days
Edge options: Merrow edge or embroidered edge
Backing options: Plain, iron-on backing, or velcro
Base materials: Polyester/cotton twill or felt
Pros: Embroidered patches are our most popular style of patch. The base material and edge stitching gives them a firm rigidity. These can be supplied loose or applied directly to a garment by ironing them on or ssewing them to headwear and garments.
Cons: Embroidered patches are best for designs that don't have too much detail. Artwork that has gradients, fine lines or text that is smaller than 4mm would not be suitable for embroidered patches, our woven patches would be best for this.
Woven Patches
Size options: From 50mm x 50mm up to 100mm x 100mm.
Shapes available: Standard and custom shapes
Minimum order: 100 units
Maximum thread colours: 12 thread colours
Production Time: 20 - 30 Working days
Edge options: Merrow edge, embroidered edge, or no edge
Backing options: Plain, iron-on backing, or velcro
Pros: Woven patches are perfect for just about any artwork as the tightly woven threads allow for the finest of detail. These patches look great on headwear and garments. We can create these without an edge or with either a merrow or embroidered edge.
Cons: Woven patches are not as thick as embroidered patches, therefore they are not as rigid. This is because embroidered patches are embroidered onto a base material.
Dye-Sublimated Printed Patches
Size options: From 50mm x 50mm up to 100mm x 100mm.
Shapes available: Standard and custom shapes
Minimum order: 20 units onto garments or 100 units loose.
Maximum print colours: Unlimited, this is a full colour print.
Production time: 15 to 25 working days if onto garments. 4-6 weeks if supplied loose.
Edge options: Embroidered edge or no edge.
Backing options: Plain, iron-on backing, or velcro.
Pros: Dye-sublimated patches are the best patch option for super fine detailed artwork or small text. Dye-sublimated patches are digitally printed and then sublimated onto a polyester material. Cons: Because of the dye-sublimated process onto polyester fabric, the colours will fade faster than embroidered or woven threads.

Pros: PVC patches and keyrings are a modern take on the traditional patch. The PVC plastic is custom molded to your artwork and matched with custom pantone colours. PVC patches are really durable and aturally waterproof so you can be assured your branding lasts.
Cons: PVC Patches requires moulds to be created, therefore the more colours your design is, the more moulds are required which makes it more expensive. We suggest keeping your design to 2 - 4 colours to keep the PVC patches affordable.
Leatherette Patches
Size options: From 50mm x 50mm up to 100mm x 100mm.
Shapes available: Standard and custom shapes
Minimum order: 20 units onto caps or 50 units loose
Colour options: Brown, Black, and Grey
Production Time: 10 - 20 Working days
Backing options: Plain or iron-on backing
Pros: Leather patches are most popular on caps and beanies but can be sewn onto garments if required. We can decorate the patch using a laser etch or hot emboss. The hot emboss is better suited to bold, chunky artwork, whereas the laser etch is perfect for detailed artwork or text.
Cons: Are there any? The leather comes in three different colours and the branding goes a darker shade of the leather; therefore we cannot print colours onto leather.

You can use up to 12 thread colours with our embroidered and wovwn patches. We sample all of our patches and send you through a photo to check that you are happy with how they have sewn out and to check the colours are correct. We also offer glow in the dark, neon, metellic threads as well as puff embroidery.
BORDER STYLE
Our most popular border style is a merrow edge but we can also finish your patch with an embroidered edge or leave it with an edge. The twill on the embroidered patches will fray if it does not have a border but the woven patches are fine witout a border.
BACKING TYPE
We can supply patches with an iron-on back so that customers can iron these on themselves, we do suugest sewing these as well if using a domstic iron to ensure the adhere to the garment. We can also supply them with a valcro backing or with no backing.
SHAPE AND SIZE
Our patches can be customised to the shape and size that you require. Most of our patches are with 100mm x 100mm but we can go larger if you require. We can create most shapes, but some patch styles may be better suited to a more detailed shape.
