Fast 15 with Cat Mackenzie Everitt

Fast 15 with Cat Mackenzie Everitt

1. What is your role at The Print Room?

I work in the heat press department. I press all the Supacolour transfers!

2. Share a portrait of yourself

3. Share a favourite place of yours

I am a big fan of Doctors Point in Waitati. It was the first place I really connected to when I moved to Dunedin. Five years later, and I still think it’s the best place to swim.

4. What are your hobbies?

As an artist, I love working with as many materials as I can get my hands on. I adore sketching, painting, pottery and jewellery making. Outside of that, I love getting into my garden and spending time in nature.

5. Got any book recommendations?

Reading the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon is pretty much a rite of passage for the woman in my family.

6. What’s your go-to coffee?

I’m usually an oat latte kinda girl, but I enjoy switching it up depending on the mood.

7. What are your all-time favourite albums?

This is a tough one! I love Glow by Alice Phoebe Lou, Struggler by Genesis Owusu, and absolutely every album by Courtney Barnett. Recently, I've also been enjoying Forever Howlong by Black Country, New Road.

8. Your lifelong dream?

To see the world, visit many galleries and record my travels in watercolour along the way.

9. What are you doing to help the environment?

Carpooling to work, buying locally sourced foods from the market, and I do my best to buy most things second-hand.

10. What were you doing before TPR, and what brought you here?

I have just graduated from the Dunedin School of Art after spending four years exploring different processes, materials and ideas. I am definitely a hands-on person, so my role at TPR suits me well.

11. Take a snap of something that makes you happy:

The crown on a Friday night.

12. If you had unlimited Airpoints and could go to one country tomorrow, where would it be and why?

I would go to Italy to enjoy the artwork, food and architecture.

13. If you could turn one of your smoko doodles into a real-life character, who would they be and what would they do?

Probably a Yopro wizard who would grant the team one wish every Monday. He also offers reminders to the staff about our Friday baking roster. His name would be Wallace.

14. You’re having a dinner party at your house. What do you make?

Pulled pork soft-shelled tacos! With a healthy amount of guacamole.

15. You’re allowed three famous guests at this dinner party. Who are they and why?

My favourite artist couple: Courtney Hassman and Hannah Hazel, and Lady Gaga for some flair.
