Raw materials
It all starts with the raw materials. Stanley/Stella only uses 100% organic cotton (sourced from Turkey and Tanzania), and their outerwear is made exclusively with recycled polyester and recycled nylon. Recently (2023), Stanley/Stella began collaborating with Remei Tanzania, a group dedicated to creating value for all stakeholders in the textile supply chain, starting with organic cotton farmers in Tanzania.
C0₂ emissions
From there, the brand collaborates with factories in Bangladesh and China that are certified for either or both the GRS (Global Recycled Standard) and the GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard). Looking to the future, there is now a focus on lessening CO₂ emissions and water use across their supply chain. They have embarked on an ambitious decarbonisation mission: “to reduce our relative carbon emissions by 30% by 2030, across the entire value chain (from a 2022 baseline).”
