AS Colour is pretty good at what they do, we're always fizzed when an email slides in announcing a new product drop. We appreciate good quality basics as much, if not more so, than the next person. SO it's no surprise there's been a fair bit of discussion about this around the smoko table at Print Room. Here are our Top 8 Picks from the latest AS Colour drop:

Heavy Tee - 5080
We like heavy. Heavy is good. This boxy fitting, drop shouldered number is a new essential for the wardrobe. It's a heavy weight, 280 GSM, 100% combed cotton tee ideal for screen printing. It features wide neck ribbing, is side seamed with shoulder tape and a double-needle hem. These are preshrunk, so you don't have to worry about in-wash shrinkage. All in all, a solid option for any print or embroidery job in the pipeline.

Heavy Crew - 5145/4145
There's going to be a bit of a trend here. We like the new Heavy Crew too. It boasts a relaxed, oversized fit with those dropped shoulders we all know and love. If you thought the above was heavy, your mind will be blown; this crew comes in at a dense 400 GSM; it's lined with CVC Fleece and made from 80% Cotton 20% Polyester. Other features include inset sleeves, 2x2 ribbing on the neck, cuffs and hem. Best of all, it's available in both men's and women's fits (though go for whichever fit you like the best)! Everyone should be wearing these now.

Heavy Hood - 5146/4146
We're just getting predictable now. Another heavy weight steps into the ring. It's a similar fit to the Heavy crew, tipping the scales at 400 GSM, has the same CVC Fleece lining and is made from 80% Cotton 20% Polyester. The Heavy Hood, strangely, features a pullover hood with a self-fabric lining and a kangaroo pocket, inset sleeves and 2x2 cuffs and hem ribbing. We would be seen in this, happily, so should you. Another garment offered in both men's and women's styled fits.

Faded Crew - 5145/4145
I bet you thought we were going to keep spouting off about Heavy garments? We've been told by upper management we've done that enough. Enter into the fold the Faded Crew. This offering features a relaxed, oversized fit with AS' signature dropped shoulders. The pullover crew with inset sleeves is mid-weight at 290 GSM. The composition is 80% Cotton 20% Polyester with 1x1 ribbing on the neck, cuffs and hem. Available in both men's and women's fits.

Women's Classic Tee - 4026
Now, this is a Classic. Sorry, but it was too tempting. The Women's Classic has been released off the back of the success of the Men's fit. The crew neck tee has a relaxed fit and is longer in the body and sleeves than other women's tee styles, offering a relaxed fit over form-fitting. It is a heavy weight tee at 220 GSM and is made using 100% combed cotton. Other features include neck ribbing, side seams with shoulder taping and double-needle hems. The clever people at the AS factories have also preshrunk these tees to reduce shrinkage from washing.

Women's Martina Tee - 4006
The Martina Tee is a solid addition to the AS Women's tee range. A boxy, relaxed garment that again moves away from the fitted silhouette commonly used for women's tees. The Martina will be a staple for (give or take) 50% of the population. AS have used a drop shoulder for this mid-length and mid-weight (180 GSM) cut, made from 100% combed cotton. It also has neck ribbing, side seams, shoulder taping, double-needle hems, and the usual preshrunk treatment.

Women's Mock L/S Tee - 4070
We like a lot of things; Mock L/S tees are one of them. AS have created a relaxed and boxy fitting L/S tee with a high ribbed neck. This mid-weight (180 GSM), 100% combed cotton garment runs mid-length in the body, with long sleeves and ribbed cuffs - perfect for layer and the upcoming cooler months. It also features double-needle hems and was thrown in the same preshrinking mixer as many of the above.

Women's Utility Dress - 4925
The Utility Dress is a functional work-wear garment, much like a pinafore or dungarees-dress, made from hardy 320 GSM 100% cotton canvas. If you have a lot of baggage, you'll love the five pockets and adjustable shoulder straps, which are very handy if you need to redistribute the load you've burdened yourself with. The Utility Dress runs black nickel hardware with shank buttons at the sides and is double-stitched.
